MICROM MODEL HM 500 OM MOTORIZED CRYOSTAT – FULLY RECONDITIONED. This German made cryostat is in superb condition. Our Biomedical Engineering Department opened it up, cleaned it, lubricated it, reassembled it, tested and calibrated it. It now meets all the performance criteria specified by its manufacturer.
This cryostat is motorized for greater ease of use, it has an electric advance/retract function so that the user is not required to put his hands into the freezing chamber as often and a foot switch for hands free operation. In addition, this cryostat has two refrigeration systems that use R12 refrigerant. One is for the chamber and the other for the specimen holder.
This cryostat cools down quickly and quietly, the microtome operates smoothly at low temperature and the glass window warms up and stays condensation free. Three specimen holders are included and the rail mounted specimen press is also included.
